Rapper Soulja Boy Reportedly Bought a $55 Million Private Jet For His Birthday

Rapper Soulja Boy Reportedly Bought a $55 Million Private Jet For His Birthday on July 28, 2011

Rapper Soulja Boy is shy about spending his money. TMZ is reporting that Soulja Boy celebrated his 21st birthday on July 28, 2011 by buying himself a private jet worth about $55 million.

As Gawker deftly points out, Forbes Magazine estimated Soulja Boy's 2010 income to be $6 million, a very healthy income, but not one that justifies a private jet. How exactly those numbers makes sense isn't exactly clear.

TMZ has all the details on the Soulja Boy private jet.
"The jet cost $35 mil ... but that's just the beginning. We're told the birthday boy is dropping an additional $20 million to pimp out his ride with all sorts of cool stuff ... like 12 custom Italian leather seats, flat screen TVs, 4 liquor bars, a special travertine tiled floor, and Brazilian hardwood cabinets."

The rapper is also throwing himself a party at a Miami nightclub on Saturday to the tune of $300,000, with guests such as Dwight Howard, Bow Wow, and Sean Kingston expected to attend.

Soulja Boy, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, is best known for his 2007 single "Crank That (Soulja Boy)."

Lee How Promo bw.jpg

(LOS ANGELES, CA – July 13, 2011) FOX’s hit television series, So You Think You Can Dance will feature a special guest performance by Chicago’s own Lee How and Emmy Award Winner, Jason Samuels Smith’s company A.C.G.I. (Anybody Can Get It) on Thursday, July 14th. Tune in to watch 8PM EST tomorrow on FOX. http://www.fox.com/dance/

“The Tap Wiz Kid” as declared by Dance Spirit magazine, recently took his artistry to the next level, bridging tap to rap with the highly buzzed release of his debut mixtape ‘ART PROJECT’. With only a month after the mixtape dropped, Lee How was asked to rock the mic with hip-hop pioneers, A Tribe Called Quest and summoned to spit bar for bar with pure lyricists such as Rhymefest. Lee will kick off a summer promo tour later this month throughout the United States, Europe, and Canada. His goal is to expose his positive lyrics with sounds of intricate tap rhythms to audiences across the globe.
“He is next in line of great entertainers like Bill Bojangles Robinson, Sammy Davis Jr., and Gregory Hines, possessing skills on the microphone and in a tap shoe. This young man will be one of the great artists of our generation," says Jason Samuels Smith.

Lee How channels his previous work as a tap dancer to create a uniquely definable sound, while staying true to his Midwestern roots. He goes the extra mile to impact his peers by layering his sets with hip-hop and tap dancing. ‘ART PROJECT’ features all new original music written and produced by Lee How, which is available for a free download at http://leehowfasho.bandcamp.com

“My purpose is not only to make people love my music but also to help people fall in love with tap dance,” says Lee How.

Good Time at Insomniac's Electric Daisy Carnival

By: Alissa Ponchione
June 27, 2011

When a three-day concert festival arrives, people listen, or in the case of Insomniac’s Electric Daisy Carnival, they dance into the wee hours of the morning. Held this past weekend from June 24–27, with more than 200 performers and an estimated 80,000 in attendance, this year’s festival was nothing short of amazing.

The festival showcased some of the best talent in house music, transforming Las Vegas Motor Speedway into an eclectic variety of performers and other carnival revelry that included Ferris wheels, fun houses, carnival fare and more.

However, fans gathered to hear some of the world’s most popular DJs, including Benny Benassi, Tiesto, David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia and Skrillex as well as Richie Hawtin, Green Velvet and Rusko.

On the final night, headliners Swedish House Mafia played to a swelling crowd of 40,000 festivalgoers, with special guest vocalist John Martin taking center stage in a surprise reveal. Afterward, crowds were presented with a 10-minute fireworks show that had Red Bull skydivers shooting off flames, lighting up the sky during the two-hour experience.

And it wasn’t just the music that created pervasive excitement, entertainment included dancers, fire twirlers, aerialists, stilt walkers and more, immersing attendees in a full sensory experience and showcasing talented DJs from all over the world who delivered an unforgettable good time that only can happen in Vegas.

$100 Million Balance On ATM Receipt Posted On Website

New York-- In this economy, wouldn't we all love to have a savings account balance of a few thousands, much less millions!

It appears that someone has some expendable cash to the tune of almost $100 million dollars, according to dealbreaker.com.

The Wall Street gossip site DealBreaker.com posted an ATM receipt Wednesday, but the thing that caught everyone's eye was the balance remaining in the account: nearly $100 million.

The receipt, from a Capital One Bank ATM in East Hampton, NY, and dated June 18, showed an available balance of $99,864,731.94, after a $400 withdrawal.

According to DealBreaker, the account holder of the bank account is hedge fund manager David Tepper. When contacted by The New York Post about the found receipt, Tepper denied being in the Hamptons in June, and told the newspaper he would never do anything as "irresponsible as leaving $100 million in a savings account."

There is no official word if the receipt is Tepper's, but whoever holds the account did have to pay a foreign ATM fee of $2.75.
